problems with desktop shortcuts

    ive tried the search and not found what im looking for so could someone please help
    all the desktop shortcuts on my other pc wont work! by that i mean when i double click the left mouse button on say I E shortcut it comes up with the properties window but if i right click & go to open it works im confused as the other icons that are not shortcuts ie my computer etc all work fine
    also when i select I E from the start menu it works but wont let me type anything in the address bar at the top it just makes a pinging sound
    my nephew was last on the machine yeaterday ive just found out :mad:
    sorry if this is a common one but i did do the search

    Have you checked your mouse settings in control panel? or try your mouse on the computer your on now. If they are all ok then something else might be messing around so click on spybot in my sig download and do what it says update n stuff then do a full scan and see if any probs come up and get rid of them.

    checked mouse and keyboard settings and all was ok
    ive got a wireless keyboard & mouse by belking
    tryed a normal k/m and it was the same but just in case i removed the software for the belking and plugged it all back in and to my suprise it all works again fine
    so ive left the belking software out and its all ok :)

    done the registry repair as well just to make sure :rolleyes:
