When a document is accidently sent to the wrong printer or to a printer that is not connected it is not possible to delete the document from the printer queue using the printer icon in the Control Panel. Is there another way to delete such documents?

I am always able to go to the icon you mentioned and then double click on the printer I sent the command to and delete items from the queue. If you're doing it that way, what screen do you get when you double click a specific printers icon?

Your printer must have a large amount of buffer memory.

I just hit the power switch when I want to have my way with my printer. That clears the buffer and allows for editing the queue in a less frantic environment.

That is not to say all printers will allow such treatment and of course if it's remotely located you don't have that luxury.

Then also to consider is the spooler file that allows for background printing beyond your buffer capacity. Even when you kill the power to the printer, the spooler will keep the data and nag you until you either print it or delete it using the printer software.

    I'm sorry I can't offer you a better escape.
