In IE I am able to access a list of high-use web sites by clicking on an
"Links >>" symbol at the right side of my Location bar. Can I generate and then access a similar facility using Netscape 7.2? ... wdc

I think that the Links in IE is pretty much in the category of a Bookmarks button in NS. And, you can place whatever you want in this button, or to be more precise a folder. The Bookmarks button in the personal toolbar is nothing more than a duplication of the Bookmarks, in the Menu Toolbar. But, you can have a single or more than one folder into which you organize your bookmarks. At present, I am using 13 different folders, plus a dozen more individual sites. you just will have to do some work to this rolling.

    Westside: Thank you.

I guess I need to look into the NS Bookmark options. Can anyone tell me how I can get to the Help (or equivalnet screens) that explain how to Manage Bookmarks -- place them in folders, move them ,delete them, etc? ..wdc

    wdc,

Click on Help | Customize Netscape | Bookmarks. That will give you a pretty good overview of the Bookmarks' features, organization, etc.

If you have more questions, just let us know.

Thanks all. I have looked at the help menu but still need help.

I would like to add a link to this BBS to my personal toolbar (the one that now has Home and Search).

I view this page. I place the cursor on the small icon to the left of www.windowsbbs.com on the Navigation toolbar, hold the left button; and drag the cursor to the tool bar; and then release the left button. BUT Nothing Happens!— What am I doing wrong?

    wdc,

The Toolbar that has Home and Search, is your Navigation Toolbar. The Personal Toolbar is something else altogether. Are you sure you've set up a Personal Toolbar?

You can either drag and drop links to the Personal Toolbar from the Location Bar, with a left click | Drag | Drop

    OR

Using the Bookmarks Manager, you can either copy, or move any Bookmark to the Personal Toolbar. If the Personal Toolbar isn't working as it should:

    Open Bookmarks Manager
    Highlight any Bookmarks Folder
Click on View | Set as Personal Toolbar

Now, highlight the Personal Toolbar folder
Click on View | Set as Personal Toolbar
This should get your Personal Toolbar working again.

If by chance you haven't set up a Personal Toolbar, let us know, and we can help you.

The Screen Shot below displays the Navigation and Personal Toolbar.

I have done away with all the extras, like Home, search is ok,since does not take up space in the Personal Toolbar. Assuming that you have nothing else, or much in the Toolbar, select Bookmarks|Bookmarks this page (in Firefox, otherwise File Bookmarks, the line right above Manage bookmarks. After you do that, you will have a choice in placing the bookmarks. You may have to click on the button on the right to open up the menu, and make a specific selection, like in Personal bookmarks folders. That will place a link in the Personal toolbar folder (you can always correct this, if you make the wrong choice, from Manage Bookmarks, and drag up or down,as needed. The way you were doing is to create a link outside the browser, on the desktop. Not so easy to do, since you need to have some room to see the desktop. But you want to do the other way.
And, the directions from the Help menu are ok, but the way I described will give you immediate control. I don't have to go through the Manage Bookmarks step, if you know where you want to place the bookmark.
