Every 15 minutes or so an application? shows up at the bottom of the screen on the TaskBar line for about 1 second or so and then disappears. It's not there long enough for me to click on it nor does it have any noticeable identification. It seems to open itself to do something and then immediately close itself after it is through. It does appear to have a clear, white box in the center. I have checked the Event Viewer but couldn't find anything that appeared to match it's timing. Is there some other log or location I could go to find out what this thing might be.

Thanks for the suggestion RexB. You were right - "Look quick ". It is apparently tied to a massive software application that came with my new HP "All in One" 7310 Officejet. I did a Google search and came up with some hits that said it was the HPOfficeJet System Manager and was a -0- threat and safe on one's computer. I poked around a bit to see if I could disable it but not too concerned now that I know what it is.

Took a while for me to identify the culprit. I was finally able to coordinate the Task Manager and the Print Screen (a handy feature in the "massive" software package mentioned above) with the 15 minute interval that the forager was using - but patience prevailed. As usual, I learned something new on this board again.

    Glad it was a non-problem,
some s/w apps maybe add too much 'helpful' stuff.
