I seem to be having problems with media players on my PC. Here are the basics...

WMP7.1 - Installs, gets to either changing media or loading media and freezes.

Quicktime - gets to updating registry entries during install and freezes.

RealOne - Needs to download new software to play this type of format (no matter what type) but can never find it. Says .mco is not supported.

I don't really care what one we get to work, or if there is another one (preferably free) I would be willing to try it also.

    Thanks in advance!

(Windows 98se with all patches, celeron, sound blaster card)

Don't know what type of media you are trying to play, but try WinAmp .
I myself do not like the nosey, always calling home RealPlayer, don't like QuickTime, but it's required by some software, and we are kinda stuck with Media Player...
You might consider trying to track down why none of the players you currently have won't work. Is it a corrupt media file? Seems strange that 3 'players' won't work.....

    Good Luck

    Double 911,

I'm up a creek when it comes to your video files. I don't play video files, unless I receive one in my e-mail, but for playing several kinds of media files, I use Music Match. The free version is a combination Jukebox & CD ripper, and a few more things I don't use. :)

It will play Windows Media files, m3u's, mp3's, wav, Shoutcast, Music CD's, & Secure music. That's what it has listed anyway.

Here is the url link. http://www.musicmatch.com/home/

It's a rather sizable download. Somewhere around 10 to 12 MB.

Edit: It will also batch convert from mp3 to wav, or wav to mp3.

    Deloris.
