I used to use netscape 7.1 for emails, my last open machine
it asks me to set up netscape profile, I did not,
then I cannot open email, it keeps asking for a new account,
    all my emails lost,

I found this group, I read the solutions, but I am too stupid to
understand, Can you help me to recover my emails?

The help file of the group says:

Open Windows Explorer and navigate to your Mail account

I don't understand what does it mean.

I saw I have Internet explore, I don't know what is Windows explorer
How I can fulfill the instructions to recover the emails account?
I use Window xp prof. that is only I know

    Mufei,
you are ok. It can be very confusing to a beginner, especially since the directions may have been written for Win98, which had a shortcut called Windows Explorer, while WinXP does not have it. I am assuming that you were looking at a link like this in Netscape Solutions . Now if you do this: Start|My Computer|Local Disk C|
    You get into windows explorer

Sorry, I was having problems with my computer, and I just sent an incomplete post. Just to make things a bit clearer, you should be able to access My Computer directly from a shortcut on your Desktop. My Computer is always on the upper left. If you are not used to it, everything between the | lines is a step. So you look in C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\default\xxxx.slt\Mail\accountname
You will have to follow the directions in the original post, to be able to see the files on the hard drive. But, if you can open your Netscape, and you have everything else, it may be enough to tell Netscape to look at the old account.
You can do that in Netscape|Mail|Edit|Mail and News Settings|your account|server settings|local directory| browse button. You should see at least two folders, like mufei@this.com and mufei@this.com-1. Select the first one, and you may be in business. I am not 100% sure since this never happened to you. But the idea is that nothing is lost, but something caused a link to break.
Now why is this going on, I don't know, but it could be due to one setting, in your preferences, Advanced|Software installation|uncheck box for check for updates.
Do not do anything that you don't understand, but get used to the system. It never got me in years, but it is always possible.
Good luck, and ask more questions.

I become more worried about my emails

I followed the instructions to look for the account,

I can got just that far

    C:/documents and settings\user_name\

under my user namde (I am the only user, any place in the hard disk) there
is just nothing called Application Data or Mozilla, so it stopped there.

in the netscape, there is just no account exist

well I am considering just to dig out the inbox, anybody knows
where it must be or how it looks like, with what stuf one can read it?

how it can be so bad? why netscap is designed to hind stuff?
I broke other emails too, but it is just easy to find back the box,
at least you can note down the email adresses and start a new life
