MS says you need WIN XP for WMP 10 but in FAQs it talks about if you're using another version.... Can you use 10 and 2000 together ok? Version 9 doesn't include CD burner like 10 does it? Thanks

As far as I know (and from what I can search up), WMP10 can be forced to run on Windows2003 but it requires some serious hacks and isn't 100%.

I don't think there is any way to get it running on 2000.

Agreed on 2000. I tried it once and the installer just said that it needed XP.

I must correct myself! Must have been when I was running dual boot with win 2000 and win 98 that I got the failure on MP10. Probably tried to install it on 98.

Noticed that I was already running MP10 on another system also running win 2000. Soooooo, Went to Microsoft, downloaded MP10 and installed it on this Win 2000/Linux dual boot on win 2000. Went without a hitch.

I will say that I have ALL updates and Service Packs.

    SIGH!!!!!

I must correct myself again... Windows Media Player 10 will NOT work on Windows 2000!

I am SO sorry for the last message being missleading! I'll blame it on medication... I have a problem with one eye that flares up from time to time. Happen to be allergic to the eye meds so have to take pain pills to counter the alergic reaction to the eye meds. Kinda messes up my head a bit...

The '10' I tried that worked on win 2000 was Real Player 10, no MP 10. However, Real Player 10 may solve your burning problem as you can burn from Real Player 10.

Personally I used RP 10's burn routines once and went back to Nero.. The RP 10 free version burner actually does quite well but it burns at a slower speed than I can with Nero. But if you want to burn from a player it does work well.
