Updating Windows XP without the Internet

Hi,

I need to update a customer's XP computer with all the latest windows patches, especially for IE6. The problem is that he works in a government agency which has a very strict security policy and the computer has no access to the internet . Is there any way I can update the computer? I tried getting the patches on cd but microsoft only ships the cds to US or Canada and I live in Singapore.

I'm a bit confused as to why you're concerned with updating a computer, especially IE, that will not have internet access (no internet...no vulnerabilities to be exploited through internet use), but have you tried downloading the updates from Windows Update catalog and burning them to cd?

 

Here is a good place to start. You can selectively get what you need or else get all from a certain date forward.

Yes, I know the problem sounds stupid, but that's what you get when you deal with people with zero IT knowledge. My customer's office wants to run some web-based CBT courses over his network and the IE on those computers need to be updated to view the courses correctly. Sigh.
