We used to have this program on our computer called Copernic 2001. I uninstalled it years ago, but when I go to 'Start>Find' there's still the option: "Using Copernic 2001..." which is just a broken link. I. don't. like it. There aren't any traces of C2k1 anywhere on my computer except for here, and I'm pretty sure. I searched "Copernic" in the registry and deleted anything I found, but it's a big place. Does anyone know where I could find the 'Start>Find' folder directly and delete this out of my life? Is that even how to fix it? I've tried everything but can't catch a break. Windows 98. Ciao.

If you still have the program, reinstall it, then uninstall it again. You may end up back at the same place or it may fix the problem because the previous uninstall did not work properly.

If it actually says "Using Copernic 2001..." do a registry search for "using" and "2001 ". You are backing up your registry?

Hope others can help you further.

What you got under this hkey in the registry? Remember to either back up the registry before changing or export the hkey before editing.

    ----I found this article-----
    Remove items from Find drop-down
Many users would like to remove the unused items from the drop-down list in Start - Find.

Backup the Registry, run RegEdit, and locate the Key below

Under Static in the left pane you will find a number of sub-Keys each representing one of the Find options and each having a its own sub-key with the number 0

For each option you wish to remove from Find, Rename the sub-key from 0 to 1 (use Right-click and Rename)

Note: InetFind refers to 'Find on the Internet' and Wabfind (Windows Address Book Find) refers to 'People'. 'Files or Folders' can not be removed.

Rename it back to 0 if you ever want to display one of the removed entries again.

    Hkey_Local_Machine\software\microsoft\windows\current version\explorer\findextensions\static

Try searching the reg for coper rather than copernic.

Your gonna' get flagged by this boards adminstration to change/edit the title of your original post ie; "go ahead and help me...etc" to something more appropriate/meaningful and using keywords related to your posted problem. Might as well do that now before your post gets locked out. Suggestion "remove Copernic from start/find list" or something along those lines.
