I'm trying to hide a bar at the bottom of my screen that's over an inch wide. It's taking up too much screen space. Thanks So Much

Are you talking about the taskbar? If so, put your cursor on the very top of it and when it turns to a double arrow click the left mouse button and while holding it down, drag it down to the size you want it. If you want to hide it, right click on it and choose properties and somewhere in there you'll find a line that refers to autohide. I'm using XP at the moment and don't remember the exact wording etc. If you check that box the taskbar will dissappear. Putting your cursor at the bottom of the screen causes it to re-appear.

    Hi surfdog,
As a self described "beginner ", not knowing if you are totally new to "win98" thus unaware of the taskbar functions, features and the ways of customizing such, you may need to do a little study-up. Here's Google's take on the taskbar:
    http://www.google.com/search?source...rls=GGLD,GGLD:2005-15,GGLD:en&q=win98+taskbar

Windows BBS and its archives of past posts are also full of taskbar quests. You may wish to peek at these by using the boards search feature. You may find tips, tweaks and customization suggestions of interest. You can fold bend and mutilate this thing until it is just way you like it but you must first be aware of the many things you can do with it.

Any further help, explanations or questions you come up with along the way, will be happily answered. Just append or tack it up in this post and I or another will answer. Please remember to share the results "good or bad" to any open post you have started by updating it with your progress or end result.
