I need some help with a formula for marking up a column of dollar amounts by a set percentage. I have a rather large column of prices that I need to change.
    Any help is appreciated!

    Can you be more specific?

Do you have a number that is $5.00 for example and you want to change it to $5.00 + 5%?

Yes. It is a price sheet for a customer and we have has an increase of say 5%. So, if the price is $5.00, I want to plug in a formula to increase all the prices by 5%, so the $5.00 item would be $ 5.25.

One way simple (?) way of doing this .....

Insert a new column adjacent to the column listing the prices

In the new cell adjacent to the first price insert the formula ....

"=A1*1.05 " - without the quotes - where A1 is the cell reference for the first cell which contains a price and *1.05 increases the value by 5%

Fill down the new column and delete or hide the original prices column
