    Hi James,

Manual setting means that it can't start up by itself, but will start if something else needs to use it. In this case, AFIK, no other services need this running, look at the Dependencies tab.

So if you are not using Remote Assistance, disable it.

    Regards - Charles

Thank Geri,James, Charles, and all others.

It was not long ago that I always turned of my surge bar , after shutting down my computer and signing off line.So whatever settings where set on my system would not really matter?" Dead Computer" I have noticed that these new problems have only occurred since I have not been killing all power to the system.( my Board friends did not think that removing all power to my system was a good idea , so I quit that practise.) I have now POKE-A- YOKED (Japanese for fool proofing ) my INTERNET connection, suffice to say that I can not leave the little computer room without the manual severing of the phone connection! I have uninstalled my MSN Messenger . I know that I probably did not need to but I did anyway, and went through all the settings in my windows XP. I Disabled some that I was not sure just what they were, but everything still works? So , so far so good. All my cache and History deletes every day" this is not new I already had that set before ". I no longer have Zone Alarm Pro Just the regular one, but I have blocked and locked every unfamiliar site. Thanks again for verifying that my experience may not be unique to just me. Thanks again{ALL} ,your help is and was very much appreciated loonychoons Lenny Chowns.
