Hi, I am having a problem accessing this site http://www.learndirect.co.uk I have been trying for the last few days with no luck. I sent them an e-mail and recieved the following reply today.

    Hello Warren,

Sorry to hear of your difficulties accessing http://www.learndirect.co.uk
The site was down for a maintenance outage on Friday evening, plus it is taken down each night between the hours of 0100 and 0500 for database backup.
Pls be assured that the site is available 7 days a week outside of these hours. The learndirect website is visible via all internet routes, but learners should be aware that multimedia courseware access may be impaired by public internet network latency; therefore Ufi recommend that learners wishing to access their courseware from home investigate a QoS dialup connection,

I still cant access the site although I can access the link at the bottom of the quote. The link at the bottom is obviously part of the same site so I dont understand how i cant get on it

I had no problems accessing the site.

Are you, perchance, running ZoneAlarm 3? If so, try disabling it and then revisiting the site. This'll show whether or not the problems lies with your ZA settings.

No, I run Norton Personal Firewall and I have tried disabling it and I still can't access the site.

IE 6 is my browser which is fully updated.

Clear your Cookies, Temporary Internet Files, and History using Tools > Internet Options > General tab. If the problem persists, follow the instructions in this post by TonyT. These steps assume you are using one of the Win 9x based operating systems.
