My boyfriend installed XP on his home PC (IBM), but he also still has 2000 on his system. I told him to wait for me so I can install it properly, but he didn't. So now he's having trouble with the system not wanting to boot up. What's the easiest way for me to explain to him how to remove either XP or 2000. By the way, when he did this, he wrote over his 2000 recovery program, so he lost that.

Could you give some details about exactly how he installed XP.
    - Dual boot with 2K?
    - Same partition as 2K?

And some detail about what happens when he tries to boot would help.

If he is up to it or you can talk him through it and can get enough system access, posting a copy of the boot.ini file would help.
