    Hi all
I have a problem that has occurred since I was invited to upgrade from V9 to v10 of Windows Media Player. I wil try and take you through the sequence of events as best I can. A couple of days ago, a message appeared saying there was a version of WMP do I want to updrade to V10. I said yes and the upgrade sequence took place during a phone call I made. On my return to the screen, there was nothing there to indicate that the process had finished, so I assumed it had. Later on trying to play track, I clicked on the icon and....well nothing. WMP was not playing. I found its folder and it said it was there but it would not start. I went to the microsoft site and decided to download it again, but it said I already had the latest version!! Now this is where it might have all gone wrong. I went to the add remove/programmes and unticked the box. No luck on trying to reinstall. I tried reinstalling V9 again. It said I had the latest version. I even tried System Restore, but by now the icons relevant to WMP had gone. I have since downloaded the exe file and have tried to reinstall, but a window comes up saying...'This version of Windows Media Technologies is incompatible with this version of Windows' !! Also some crucial dll files are missing..like wmvcore.dll and others.
This was to be a simple upgrade that has gone wrong. All I want to do is get the programme back but there does not seem to be a simple solution. Can anyone help. Ron
