I bought new PC with XP home, so i'm not real swift with it yet. Every time I click on "help and support" I get following pop up from McAfee.

" a suspicious script has been detected! the fileC:windows\pchealth\helpctr\\binaries\helpctr.exe contains suspicious scripting activity and has been stopped. "

    I want to
    stop this script
    allow entire script this time
    find out more info
    continue what I was doing.

Only way I can get rid of it is if I select "allow entire script this time.

But I still can't get to "help and support.

I tried contacting McAfee but they not only don't know, they don't even suspect anything.

    Thanks for any help.

Turn off Mcafee's script stopper in advanced options and see if Help and Support opens as it should.

    Thanks Dave:
Working fine now. I wonder why Mcafee has notation "recommended" for this option?

At least we know your Help and Support is working OK. ;)

It's actually a good option to have. There are malicious scripts in use on the net that can run without your knowledge, so this is a safety net. Seems they need to tweak a bit though. Had another user recently trying to download and run HijackThis, but McAfee kept recognizing it as a virus and deleting it. :( What happens with the script blocker running if you select continue what I was doing?

    Dave:

I can select "continue what I was doing" forever, but pop up keeps occuring.

Should I reinstall the check mark till I may need "help and support "? that seems to be only program being affected so far.
