Does anyone know where I can download a good firewall for win95, preferably free?

    Thanks

***edit, nevermind, did a search on google, and came up with sysgate.

SPF is aesthetically pleasing and easy to use but is notably weak against attacks. I would look elsewhere.
I'm not sure whether it is compatible but you could try ZoneAlarm.

    Hi Alex:

ZoneAlarm cannot be installed on Win95.

What kind of problems have you had with SYGATE? I've been using it for a couple of years, and it seems to work perfectly. I've got it set to "ask" anytime something wants in or out, and it passes all of Steve Gibson's tests with flying colors. The SYGATE people even answer e-mail questions -- unheard of in this day-and-age from authors of freeware products.

I have had trouble with programs such as Modem Event manager and internet explorer being hijacked. It alerts you to the fact that you have been attacked but sometimes it does nothing about it and lets the program broadcast back to a remote IP. The only option i then had was to manually block everything going out of the computer.

There are a selection of firewalls here, some for 95 some not.

(It does say Zonealarm is compatible with 95)
