I got this Dell Laptop that just out of the blue went into "Hibernation" and won't come out? It was online and checking email when it gave the warning "going into Hibernation" and haven't been able to get it started since. Hooked it up to AC line all night and still no go?

    Any Idea's?
    Thanks

    Try this...

Power down, remove the AC cord, and the battery.
Hold the power button down for 90 seconds.

Put battery back, plug in AC if needed, reboot normally.

    Post back.

    Thanks For the reply,
But it still won't power up? The little battery light on the front just blinks for about 10 sec. It's a Dell Inspiron 1100.

    Thanks

    Hmmm, an odd one.

    Will it boot a bootdisk?

It sounds like your battery has died and not accepting a charge, or possibly the AC cord is fubarred, or the power adapter is not working. Just enough power left in the battery to light an led.
Check your AC cord, power outlet etc for bad connections. Try a diiferent power source, or wall outlet.

It's possible it could be another hardware problem, but power seems to be the problem.

    Well,
I guess the laptop is still under warranty so I'll let someone else figure this one out. Will post back results.

    Thanks

My girlfreind called Dell and they walked her thru taking out the video card, ram, harddrive. ect ect. Told her the motherboard and CPU was fried and will be replacing it soon. She was really impressed with herself and I'm thinking I should have called since I don't have any experiance taking apart a Laptop and it would be a great thing to know how to do it.

Heck .. I had to go online to find out how to remove the dang battery

Anyway .. she got in my tools so now I have to go and make sure she put them back where they belong

    Thanks For The Help
