I would liketo know what is the optimal Web browser cache size to be set to in Internet Properties>General tab>Temporary Internet Files settings. On the Settings window (after you click Settings), it gives you the option to set the "amount of disk space to use" for Temporary Internet Files folder. What is the best setting?

The setting will vary from pc to pc & user to user. Try different settings.

I agree with Steve and the only sure thing is that the default setting is too high. I have tried settings between 1-100 MB and being connected via 10 Mb/s broadband, I could probably do well without the cache altogether but less fortunate people on dialup and slower broadband connections may find a suitable figure between 10-100 MB. Slower connection = higher cache setting.

    Edited:

This question is posted in the Windows ME forum but my answer applies to IE6 regardless of operating system.

I checked the properties of my TIF folder and even though the cache size is limited to 1 MB (the minimum allowed by IE) it is currently at ~6 MB, ~7 MB on disk. It seems like the cache doesn't take the limit too seriously ...... ...... !
