Clean XP Install hangs on Setup is Starting Windows

Hi All,

I need help with something I have NEVER seen before.

1. I am doing a clean installation of XP Pro. I put the CD into the drive, I choose boot off the CD, XP starts installing and then when you get the Setup is starting Windows in the lower right corner of the screen, it hangs and does not go any further. I can install Win98SE on the drive and tried installing from Win98SE but the same thing happens. Anyone have any ideas?

I have never seen this happen before and hope that I never do again.

Hi all,

I found the problem. I broke my cardinal rule and used Outlook to help someone out. apparently someone passed a BIOS virus that caused a change in something in the BIOS that caued the problem. I flashed the BIOS and now I am installing as we speak.
