Hi, I'm running XP Home and I need to know how I can password protect the Admin account. I have MY account protected, but anyone can just come to my computer and reboot it in safe mode and get to all my stuff at their leisure. How can I either disable this or password protect it?

It sounds to me as if you have a blank password for the Administrator's account. You cannot disable this account.

This is from XP Pro - Home should be the same I guess .....

Control Panel > User Accounts > Pick an Account to change -Administrator > Create a Password. You will need to be logged on as Admin to do this.

Logon as administrator and change the password.

Note that with XP-home, you must boot into safe mode to be able to log in as administrator.

... logging in as Administrator on XP Home requires to start Windows in Safe Mode.

Then you can go to Control Panel > User Accounts and add or change the password for the Administrator account.

Newt beat me to it while I was checking my XP Home VPC to make sure I got it right
