Since upgrading from Win98FE to Win98SE, My desktop color jumps back to blue no matter what color I change it to and click on apply and ok. Is there some other setting that controls it besides desktop properties, appearance?

    Thanks,

    Marv

This may be nothing more than a simple glitch in the registry, try this. Restart in Dos Mode, and do these two commands.
    scanreg /opt
    scanreg /fix

When you get the message that windows has repaired the registry, reboot the computer.

Thanks Markp62, I do what you suggested on a regular basis. I may have found the problem, but the verdict is still out. I run a wallpaper program and it had the background color set to blue, so that whenever the wallpaper picture changed(I have it set to change every 10 minutes) the color reverts back to blue. So, I changed the color to be almost the same as in windows appearance . It is hard to tell which is the default, but I will see what happens.

    Thanks

I think you may have found it.
