XPSP2 shutdown problem

    My XP will no longer shutdown, when "turnoff" is selected - it shuts down, and then restarts. This started about 2 weeks ago. Any help/suggestions is appreciated. Thanks

    Another option is to try chkdsk, make sure your system files are correct.

    by running System File Checker .....

    Start > Run > type in sfc /scannow note the space and have your XP CD handy.

    chkdsk is for checking the drive file system.
