I want to setup my start menu with 3 shortcuts on the left so they are perminate. I have turned the lister thingy to 0 and make my shortcut on the desktop and dragged them to where I want them but when I delete the left over shortcut on the desktop the shortcut in the start menu no longer works?

    Anyway around this?
    Thanks

Yeah .. I kinda figured that out but it won't let me make shortcuts in that part of the start menu?

If I put the shortcut in System Tools for example then copy to the left side of the start menu they work?

    Thanks

Shortcuts don't lend themselves well to that area. The easy and proper way is to right click the executable for the particular program and select "Pin To Start Menu." You can do that either from the actual executable file or from the Program Menu list item for the executable. Too easy huh?

You can also drag them from the Menu onto the Start button and then to that area but why, since a right click "Pin to start menu" does it also.
