I am using windows XP. When ever I change between users I am getting two failure messages. The first message is MMDIAG - failed to create empty documnet (click OK); Click Ok then the second message comes up. MediaPassK.exe not loading (0xC0000142). This message can not be cleared. The only to stop this is to power off computer. The computer runs fine until you try and change users. I have tried delete a user and rebuild a new user but it still happens.

    DADS50 - Welcome to the Board :)

Two separate, but possibly related problems here ....

MMDIAG would appear to be associated with Music Match Multimedia Software. Do you have that installed on your m/c? If so try an uninstall/reinstall after following the steps outlined below.

    MediaPassK.exe is adware.

Download - through Quicklinks in my signature, Spybot and Ad-Aware SE - update both immediately and run. Delete all they find. In Spybot hit the immunise button followed by the green immumise + sign to load some permanent protection on your PC

Download SpywareBlaster 3.3, check for updates and 'Enable all Protection' - this also gives a degree of permanent protection.

For constant monitoring of spyware/adware download Microsoft AntiSpyware (beta) or through Quicklinks.

    All is well thanks

PeteC, Thank you for the help. Microsoft AntiSpyware (beta) found the media pass information in a couple of the reg. files. I ran all the other software also. Then I uninstalled Music Match Jukebox that my daughter had installed.
All is working well. :) :D

Glad to hear that all is now running well :) You will find that MS AntiSpyware is very effective and as it is constantly running and updating you have ongoing protection. It is a good idea to run Ad-Aware and Spybot once in a while (updated) to search for anything that MS does not detect. Also remember to update SpywareBlaster from time to time.
