Loading OS with no Rom

    I need to load an OS onto a toshiba Portege 3110 but the external cd rom is PCMCIA and therefore the drivers are not loaded in dos. How do I get any OS onto the machine without an optical device present.Is there an OS disk that I can copy to the hdd that will run setup from Dos
