    Hi All,

A friend of mine has an older computer, and he wants to speed up the board someway so it can use PC 100 memory......He is currently using PC 66 memory.

I haven't looked at the BIOS options yet, but I would think that there would be a way to cause it to accept PC 100 memory?......Correct me if I'm wrong here.

Here is something below that he e-mailed to me using Belarc Advisor....

It appears that it would take a processor upgrade to achieve 100 MHz FSB. Here is the link to the Mobo at gateways website. http://support.gateway.com/s/MOTHERBD/INTEL/M00301/m0032610.shtml

    This is what it states
There was an update for the BIOS also. I'm not sure if you want to go that route or not. You make get lucky and be able to adjust the speed in the BIOS, but Intel isnt really friendly when it comes to adjusting speeds.

The gateway website has a link where you can type in the serial # to there pc. Link to website: http://support.gateway.com/support/default.asp
I don't know how far back the database goes, but apparently it goes back a few years.
