When I installed Windows XP Pro SP2, I created a second partition, D:, to use for the swap file. I only made it 1GB so I need to change that, which is easy enough. However, I somehow can't recall how to setup Windows to use this drive for the swap file instead of C:. Any ideas? I appreciate it.

Just one thing about putting the pagefile on a different partition - if you have created a large C: drive and a small D: drive then you will be placing the page file on the innermost cylinders of the hard drive, where disk performance is at its worst (beacuse the linear speed under the read/write heads is lowest there). It would have been better to have created a small C: partition and put Windows on a large D: partition, that way the pagefile gets the best disk performance. Of course, even better still is to have enough RAM so that the pagefile is hardly ever used - 1GB does it for me.

Hrmm, you've got a point there, Sparks. I do have 1GB of RAM so maybe I'll just stick with a swap file on C: and blow out the D: partition when I install Linux. Thanks!
