56 processes running on my m/c - How much RAM do you have installed?

512 Mb preferred min, 1 Gb probably the best.

Sorry being a bit silly here but how about getting a faster PC?

    Only joking.

Shutdown all unwanted services and any startup items, remove any mention of Findfast if using an earlier version of Word e.g. Word 2000 etc...

Goto Contol panel and choose System, open that and go to Advanced then Performance then Settings, change the setting to Adjust for best performance, this sadly removes some of the nice colours etc but what the heck, ok that and see if it makes nay difference.

You could change the page file system too to move it to a faster drive that is not the main drive, plus you cold fix it at a certain size for Max and Min this stops windows dynamically resizing, the only problem with this is you might run out of memor, se it for 3.5 times you installed Ram size, if this is not enough increase it especially if you play games.

    Hope this helps

What exactly are you running - it would help to know.

You never responded to my question re. installed RAM.

    No problems there then :)

I suggest you follow the advice of TonyT and Charlesvar - in the meantime I am moving your thread to Removing Spyware and Viruses forum - std. Board practice when an HJT log is posted.

these do not need to be loaded at boot, you will still be able to use these applications and access hardware setting via their control panel applets, safe to FIX these:
