    hey guys,

This is my weird problem: I am running XP Pro, IE 6, of course, and Netscape 4.79. I decided to set the default browser to IE 6. I did what should be done (Tools, Internet Options, Programs and told it to check if I wanted it to be the default). It did not, never did... I deleted the .JS file in Netscape, no use, it kept re-creating it and insisting to be the default browser.

I uninstalled Netscape and the system keeps looking for the Netscape.exe. I reinstalled Netscape, told it not to be the default browser and so on but it is stuck and I cannot make IE the default.

I even cleaned the registry before reinstalling it. No use.

Does anyone knows where it is stuck in the registry how do I clean it?

    Thanks and cheers!

    It works!

    :D Hey Goddez1,

I downloaded and installed the little program and it works fine! I tested resetting both browsers and all is OK now.

Thank you very much for the tip.

I' m so glad this did it. While I know several ways or methods for making IE default browser in win95/win98, I have not had any XP exposure yet. I am not familiar what can be done or not done and what system tools or utilities are available.

I plan to recitify that in near future, though.........

Your most welcome and thanks for the update. :D
