    Hi
I have Spyware Guard loaded and the last Definition date was on 1-22-04.

This seems like a long time to go without a new update
Is there a better one I could use you think?

I also am running MS Antispyware.

I, too, wonder how useful Spyware Guard is, given the rarity of updates. I also use SpywareBlaster (http://www.majorgeeks.com/download2859.html), which has relatively frequent updates - I figure as long as the two programs are compatible, I may as well keep Spyware Guard running.
FYI, I run AdAware and Spybot regularly, and I can't remember the last time either program found anything. My guess is that SpywareBlaster is doing the trick (preventing anything from infecting my computer in the first place), although who knows, maybe Spyware Guard IS still helping out!
Edit: I just realized you already have SpywareBlaster too, so I'm not telling you anything new here!

That's a good starting point, but also download and run SpywareBlaster 3.2 as suggested by Rebecca - this is not a scanner, but loads a permanent 'immunisation' file, which should be updated regularly (paid version does it automatically).

Running Spybot and AD-Aware occasionally, updated, is a good backup for anything that MS AntiSpyware is unable to detect.

    Geri and Rebecca,

Got curious about SpywareGuard and tracked it down.

The program was written by Javacool, author of SpywareBlaster. From what I understand, Guard was written as a companion to SpywareBlaster.

From Javacools' home base: Wilders security

The following quote is from LowWaterMark Administrator

As to how good it is - ? As I wrote in another thread on anti malware evaluation, have not seen a comparison of preventative anti-spyware/ad-ware programs.

You have the location of the forum - perhaps you should ask :)

    Regards - Charles
