Crazy shutdown/restart Problems occuring

    Hi recently when i shut down, just before it does it im getting a popup saying something about svhost.exe memory couldnt be written press ok to terminate the application or cancel to debug its not always but most of the time then when i log back on I get the error report saying a problem occured in generic services for win32 and offers you to send report. Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Hello coolwaters,

    Sounds like some system file corruption.

    You will need your XP cd for this.

    Start > Run > type cmd > ok (opens the command box) > type sfc /scannow at the blinking cursor.

    sfc - system file checker, retrieves the correct version of the file from %Systemroot%\System32\Dllcache or the Windows installation source files, and then replaces the incorrect file.

    To see what was replaced, right click My Computer > manage, expand event viewer > system.
