right basically the problem ive got is as follows:

my mums boss has a laptop running 2000 pro, and asked me to get him a printer for it, so I figured I would get one that is easy to set up etc, as my Lexmark 1180 was. Upon installing it, all that I was able to do was print, but not photocopy or scan. Looking back at how easy it was to install everything on my pc running xp, I figured that perhaps this printer was only xp compatible. I double checked the box to find that it is meant to be compatible as far back as windows 95!

If any one has any ideas on what I could do here I would really appreciate it!

Try a w2k compatible driver from the lexmark website.
    http://www.lexmark.co.uk/uncomplicate/channel/frameset/home/0,7061,252735_2461_0_en,00.html
The x1100 series should match ur model if u've forgotten the "x" before "1180 ".
    U'll find a driver and a patch.
Can't remember the w2k menu, but if it isn't a self-installing driver file, right-click on ur printer icon, click on "properties" and then go through the menu, u should find the "update driver" button. Select the one u've downloaded.

thanks for the tips, i did try these and unfortunately have still had no luck. basically, my only option is to upgrade this laptop to xp and pray for the best, as i have now installed my own x1180 on both my computers running xp, and it works fine, including the all-in-one centre
