I have just updated the bios of my MSI (Nvidia) GForce MX440-VT 8X 128mb VIVO and when I restarted my comp. I got a VGA load ERROR and the monitor didn't even light up (stabdby button remained orange). Do you think that the card is unrecoverable?????? :(

After visiting the msi site, I'm at a loss as to what you mean by updating a bios; where did it come from? I can't find any reference to a video bios update on their site.

go to http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/software/swr/spt_swr_detail.php?UID=521&kind=2the you get the MSI live update which I had as a utility included in my vga card driver's disk, and when you run this program it will scan your comp to see the cards bios version and see what is available on the net and will give you versions available. you just follow instructions to update if there was a newer version. Just before last click to update there was a warning that you are doing this at your own risk typed in red, but I thought I could risk using the cards original program and following all the steps rigourosly. Unfortunatly from response getting from friends it seems that tempering with the bios is a 'FATAL ERROR'

OK. See what you mean. Think your only recourse is to contact MSI and hope they're able to help you.

You might wait to see if there are any other responses to your question.
