I keep my "most current" Email address list in Eudora 6.2, and routinely Import it to Netscape 7.2. After my PC hung up defragging, I can NOT import addresses from Eudora - I get the same basic message in Netscape 7.2 and Thunderbird and even DAWN address book converter: "no address books were found to import." My Eudora address books work fine, as always. In looking at Eudora's subdirectory, I've noticed their mailbox files are now NNDBASE.NNT where it used to be NNDBASE.TXT, although NNDBASE.TOC remains and looks fine. Maybe this Eudora change is a clue. Alternatively: maybe there is something corrupt in my Netscape/Thunderbird MAB files. I simply imported everthing from Netscape to Thunderbird, and TBird behaves like Netscape - it can't see Eudora address files. Any ideas how to fix it?

Why do you think that there is something wrong with NS or TB, when there is a change with a Eudora file? I have not used Eudora in ages, and don't have any more, so I can't test that end, but to me it seem a clue that something has changed. It would stand to reason that you would import a .txt file. Since one file has changed, I suggest that you copy the NNDBase.nnt file, and save it outside Eudora, the desktop is good, and rename it nndbase.txt.
Then from your program Import as .txt file, and see what happens.

It worked! Thank you, Westside. Yup, the latest version of Eudora holds nickname files in NNDBASE.NNT instead of older NNDBASE.TXT. Hence, Netscape, Thunderbird, Dawn utility, and I couldn't read the NNT Eudora file. So I simply copied NNDBASE.NNT to a clone NNDBASE.TXT, left it in the Eudora subdirectory, and it imported nicely into Netscape 7.2 and Thunderbird. Thanks!

    Frank,
I am glad it did. I would have never guessed if you did not lead me to it.
I used to like Eudora, but quite a while ago, I let Adaware take care of some its files, from ad edition, as possible spyware. I was able to restore them, but something else must have been gone. I tried the newer version, but I had the same problem which you did, but had not been as observant as you.The rest is history.
