    Hi

I've got this avi files that won't delete. is says it's being used by another program etc.

The thing is i've gone into safe mode and no joy. i've even switched hard drives and booted from my spare one to access the file and no joy.

how can i delete this file?...i copied it to the desktop and doubled my problem as well.

Sometimes it's as simple as disabling Thumbnails or disabling the preview panel by going to Tools > Folder Options > and tagging "Use Windows Classic," but in any event, Move On Boot does a great job.

Try renaming it? Change the file attributes if you can - if read only to nothing?

it's o.k now. on the third attempt i could drag and drop it.

couldn't view the properties because that file put my explorer.exe to 99% cpu. but it's gone now :D

I have a list of measures I have compiled that apply to this problem. Perhaps one of them will do it for you.
