I recently purchased a new HP 750 which runs XP Home edition. I having a very tough time getting Norton Anti Virus (corporate edition) to work and am at the point where I'd really like to re-set the computer back to its configuration before I tried installing NAV. I know in Windows 98 one could do this type of thing by accessing the scanreg when booted up in DOS and you could 'go back in time' to before you made the BIG MISTAKE. Does anyone know if a similar function exists in XP?

    They call it System Restore.

Start > Control Panel > System > System Restore Tab and away you go. XP will normally create restore points prior to any major installation. You can also elect to create one manually. You'll see it all in that screen.

    Good luck.

Thank you Zephyr. The system restore worked like a charm. :)

I am not sure what Norton Corporate Edition is but I was running Norton version 2001 with Win 98, when I upgraded to Win XP Pro, I had to upgrade to Norton AV 2002. Version 2001 would not work with Win XP.

    Just a thought.
