I've read about not running 2 firewalls at the same time and I did a search here and came up with nothing in the last few months.
So is it ok to just have the MS XP pro server pack 2 firewall off, or does one need to remove it somehow before I install the Norton IS firewall?
I looked to remove it from the software add/remove and nothing was listed as a MS firewall... So I'm a bit confused and would appreciate and educated opinion please on this.

    Thanks,

    Alan

    Hello Alan,

Windows firewall can't be removed. Installation of NIS should have disabled it. To check, Control Panel > Security Center, should say that your firewall "is currently on ".

Post back if it doesn't say that.

A link to a thread from someone that wanted to keep WF running with their firewall at the same time http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?t=39044&highlight=Firewall
