All of a sudden, I've lost all my inbox messages - If I get a new message, it only stays for a short while and then is gone. If I try to move it to a folder, it also diappears.

The explanation may be simple or not. So, look at Ramona's link . Is there any reason that you have 7.1 and 7.2? Installed separately or not, with different profiles or not? The cause may be in the latter choices. You can have as many installations as you want in different folders, and you need different profiles. How did this suddenhappening occur. I hear this a lot, but no one has given me a satiffactory answered. But, what you do in program is tied to the hard drive, and a sudden loss of mail in the program is always connected with the hard drive.

I upgraded to 7.2 thinking that the 7.1 was corrupt. The messages are in the inbox, I can read them, if I attempt to move them, they do not post to the other folder. If I go to another folder, and return to the inbox, all messages I just read are gone.

One unanswered question. Did you uninstall from the Control Panel Add/Remove Netscape7.1. In other words, what do you see listed in the Add/Remove.
Tied to that, what version Netscape did you have before 7.1, if any? and, did you uninstall that one?
And, if everything is under control, with Netscape closed, check the location of your profile, and delete the Inbox.msf file. Then open NS again.
If anything is corrupted is your profile, and if your installation is not done properly, you compounding your problems.
