Using XP Pro & Outlook 2003. I have the composing mail format set to HTML - however - If I right-click a file to attach to a new email and use the Sent to | Mail recipient feature - it launches Outlook (or a new email if Outlook is already open) in Text Format not HTML format.

I can't find any option to control or change this behavior.

A regular new composed email always starts in HTML format - so that works ok.

Anybody know how to control the compose format using the Sent to | Mail recipient feature? Thanks.

Since it just takes a couple of mouse clicks to change the format to HTML, I never worried about it.

I did some searching and can't find any mention of a way to change the behavior though. If I have a word document open and send contents to the email body, it opens HTML. Text document and it opens Plain Text. Attachments always seem to open a plain text post.

Thanks for checking. I just thought it odd that after so many versions of Outlook that by v. 2003 you still can't set a preference for it or that the preference you do set is not universal. I can't find it either - if it's there. It's not a big deal - -just when you try to print something sent it plain text - the printing runs off the right side of the page - and I can't seem to control that either. Page set up is greyed out on plain text messages.
