A strange one that i cant quite work out. I recieved an email just now that contained a "mailto:address?subject=blah" link, in outlook 2000. When i clicked on the link though, it loaded outlook express and wanted to send the message from there.
in outlook express it tells me it isnt the default mail client, although i cant find in outlook where i set that as the default client. Checked in ie settings, and that has outlook set as mail under programs.
    any ideas?
    thanks, Rob

    Hi ibiris

Open your web browser and go to tools..then internet options...then look under the programs tab, and ensure that you have the email client you want set properly there.

You've lost me. What DO you want to have set as your default email client?

    Daizy,

Okay, the email client i want to use as default is outlook. the email client i have set is outlook. However, when i click a "mailto:blah@blah.com" link in an email i recieved in outlook, it boots outlook express as if i want to use that. but i dont.
So is there anywhere other than in internet explorer, outlook and outlook express that set the email client to use?

    thanks, Rob

    Try this:

Close all open programs. Go to Start > Run - Type in the following with quotation marks and press ok:

    "C:\program files\microsoft office\office\outlook.exe" /checkclient

Restart the computer. Then check that Outlook is the default client.

    Thanks

    Kevin,

Thats sorted my problem out, the link now starts a new email in outlook as opposed to express. Cheers!
Thanks Daizy for your help too :)
