CD Rom won't read my blank CD's

This just happened today. My Cd Rom is treating my blank Cd's like they are unformated. If I insert the blank Cd and then use windows to look at it; I get a error message that the drive is not accessable; incorrect function. If I request a format; it will do that and then the Cd becomes readable. If I put a Cd in that has some files on; it will read.

I did install a program by Stomper today called Sonic Record Now. What I didn't realize is that it is not compatible with Easy Cd Creator. I did uninstall the new program; however; I still have the problem.

Any advice/solution?

 

If you have the Easy CD installation disk, suggest you put it in the CD just as if you were installing it the first time. You should get a window with three choices, Modify, Repair, and uninstall. Try to Repair. That should replace any drivers that were modified or removed with the newly installed program. If that doesn't work you may have to uninstall and reinstall. If you have Win ME or XP, go to System Restore and roll it back a couple days. That might do it.

 

Tried the repair and it didn't work. Will try and uninstall. Luck has it that I just disabled system restore yesterday. Will activate it as soon as this message is sent.
