Windows XP doesn't retain the monitor settings for the LCD Panel. When we reboot this particular office station (brand new) The windows settings revert to 8 bit 480x640. We have downloaded and sucessfully installed the latest drivers for the LCD display. We have contacted Compaq and Envision with no response from either one other that each one is pointing to the other. We have reinstalled windows xp and the SP2 update. As long as we don't turn off the CPU the LCD panel works fine. We have tried multiple settings as well. We have performed all the internal monitor test and have passed with no problems. We have also put the LCD on another machine and it does fine so we have ruled out the monitor problem. We have checked for driver compatibility with MS and it is "OK ". We have checked the driver signatures and they are ok. We have put a CRT monitor on the unit and it does fine. Any other places to look will help.
    Thanx,

Is it possible there are some video drivers that are still uninstalled from another monitor? Could it be a setting in the bios that affects the video somehow? I would try to uninstall completely the monitor drivers and then uninstall the monitor. Reboot the machine and install the drivers first and after let windows redetect the monitor.
