    Hi
I think my freezing problem is coming from this; in my device manager Ndis2driver is in yellow with a ! on it. I tried to update the driver and it says the best one is there. Anybody know where I can get one for this? I think its the reason that my puter freezes for a bit every now and then. Thanks for any help
    :)

    OK Rhody1--

First, it is NOT the driver that has the yellow !(splat). It is a hardware device that has a problem with a certain driver version.

In order for me to help you get this issue resolved, I need more information about your setup.

    1) Which Operating System do you have? Is it Windows 98 or Windows 98 SE?

    2) Ndis.vxd is (or should be) located in :\Windows\System folder. What is the version number of yours? Does it match the version number in Device Manager? In other words, when you highlight the problem device, click on Properties > Click on Driver tab. Then, Driver File Details. Are the version numbers the same?

    3) What is the name of the device in Device Manager that has the yellow !(splat)?

More than likely, it is your network adapter that has the problem. If the version number of Ndis.vxd in :\Windows\System is 4.10.2224 and the version number under 'Driver File Details' in Device Manager is different, then Remove the device from Device Manager and reboot your computer. Windows will find the new hardware and install the correct Ndis.vxd driver version.

Please post back if you have any further questions or problems.

    Hi Ski
I have Windows 98 second edition. The version # in windows/system is 4 and matching the one with the problem. The device that has a problem is called, in device manager, existing Ndis2driver. Thats the exactly way its in there. I hope I gave you enough information and thank you.
