I installed recently Netscape 7.2 in two pc's, one running Win2000Pro and the second WinXP Home Service Pack 2 and proceeded to configure both copies of Netscape 7.2 identically. Now my Yahoo Mail displays in the familiar appearance and the theme I chose to personalize it in the Win2000 pc, while the WinXP pc displays a much older version of Yahoo Mail without allowing or suggesting any fixes, save for "upgrading" the same browser that appears to be sufficiently up-to-date for the Win2000 pc. What can I do to get this fixed?

PS The same outdated version of Yahoo Mail displays in the same pc when I use Firefox as my browser. Can this problem be fixed as well?

You posted at another newsgroup, with the same question. And, I doubt that you will get any more help. What is familiar to you is not to others.

Pelion2004, I don't know the difference in the old and new versions of Yahoo but I bet there is someone here that does.

I would suspect your latest version of Yahoo Mail could be had with the XP OS. If you sign on to the older version, maybe they will offer to upgrade or there may be a place for upgrades on the page. I think the upgrading suggested in your post does not mean your browser. Probably it's talking about upgrading to new version of Yahoo Mail

Welcome to the WindowsBBS, glad to have you. ;)

Bill, the post in the other forum (is it not ridiculous that they don't allow links to competing sites! I could not help it. Sorry Ramona) indicated that it was something about color and images. But, it beats me what.

    Having the same problem

I'm having the same problem with the older version of Yahoo mail. In my case, I used my PocketPC to access Yahoo mail, and it downgraded my version of the mail interface when it detected an "older browser." Now, when I access Yahoo mail from my Windows XP (IE 6.0) machine at home, it's the downgraded version.

Sorry I don't have any suggestions for you, but if you figure it out, please let me know.

I think that it is a Yahoo thing, and, lots of luck to get any help from Yahoo.
I don't see anything unusual in my WinXP.
