Mute after standby

    :confused: When the computer is reactivated after being in standy by mode , the sound system does not work. I have to go to the control panel , sounds and audio devices and click the mute button on and then off. Only then does any sound come from the speakers. Help

    did you solve this problem? I have a worse problem, the monitor goes off, and I have to cold reboot. Appreciate any help.

    I have a Dell, they recommend to never use standby on their desktop computers.
