I had to reinstall windows a few weeks ago and after upgrading to IE6, whenever I save a file the icon will not show up. At first I thought thatmaybe that I didn't save the file, because it doesn't appear in the save as window either. But windows always asks me if I want to replace it when it looks like it isn't there. the only way I can get the icon to show up is by selecting refresh on the menu after I close the particular program I saved it with. If you could help great thanks. I tried scanning for errors and defragmenting and they don't seem to work.

When you have the Save or Save As window open, look at the bottom where it says "Save as Type." The window will only show files that are the type of file that's indicated in that field. To change that, click on the down-arrow on the right-hand end of the Save as Type field and left click on All Files. If I'm understanding the problem correctly, I think your invisible files will then show up.

Yeah it's not that, I already checked. I can't really think of a decent way of describing the problem. All I can't say is that it's like the files are invisible with no obvious sign of why. Like folder options and the sort. The worst part is that there is no radically different way I installed anything. It's almost like this happened like that.

    Which version of Windows ?

Or did I miss something ?

Could this be a Video ( driver ) problem ?
