We had a working 2000 network with five Windows 2000 servers, one of which was the Domain Controller running Active Directory. We rebuilt the domain controller. Our XP clients join the domain no problem. Our 2000 servers get an Access is Denied error when we attempt to join the domain. I've verified we are using the proper login ID's. Any thoughts?

They probably have some relics from the old SID.
Try renaming a server and then try to join the domain.

Did the old servers leave the domain before the rebuild? That should have avoided SID errors. As it is the servers think they are already in the domain.

In the future, turn one of the other servers into a Domain Controller before rebuilding the DC. You should always have at least two DCs anyway. In Windows 2000 and AD you can promote a member server with the DCPROM command.

    Check here.

Also check your DNS settings - make sure they point at the AD server.
