This is a number in the base 16 (hexadecimal) number system, which includes The first 6 alphabetic characters a...f, a representing decimal 10, c 13, f 15 and hex 10 = dec 16. The 0c (zero c) stands for error number 13 in a list. for example see this page and do a search (ctrl-f) for 0c.

Do a search on this page, too.

However, it sounds like your machine is infected. What security do you have? You need spybotSD, adaware, and a good antivirus, and update each before running (see 'Links' in my sig.). Let them remove all they find. If you still are slow and have the bsods, get hijackthis and post a scan (after reading directions in the spyware removal forums).

Don't give up! It takes a while to really clean this stuff up. We'll have a long conversation, with several other members too.

i made it back! i was able to run spybot (2 items alexa related & dso) from there ran spywareblaster check my home page (ok) ran stinger (nothing) and av(luke filewalker) nothing. i open up as much as i could on stinger (47,702 files) did a boot scan on av (0k) got back on line ran spybot adaware, spywareblaster, and got up-dates on spywareblaster, ok on the other two. no illegal operations, but before i shut down and got off-line explorer had illegal operation oleaut32.dll @015f:6539f9b9 i m using firefox and the explorer still shuts me down! oh yes on spybot there is a place that you can click and get browser protection from bad siites, i cannot check it (the checkmark does not come up. i will carefully read the other things you suggested and try to follow them, except the one where i am supposed to find a period when this computer was doing good... that will be hard to do. thanks so much for your help. if i can back to you (and i never know) i will let you know what happened
