A friend of mine has changed all his components from 1 tower to another & when he boots up & windows appears all his settings are messed up, see pic.

    Is there a simple solution.

    Thanx in advance

After looking at the pic, suggest your friend reinstall windows after first booting with a startup disk, running fdisk to remove and remake partitions, then rebooting and formating.

When putting a HDD with windows on it into a new hardware environment as was done, the CD that came with the new mobo has ro be run to update the registry and hardware drivers. One way is to make a mental note of where the drivers are on the CD so you can direct the new hardware 'wizard' to the drivers. If the machine boots, you can use device manager to see which hardware needs new drivers and install (update) them individuslly.

Unless you do this immediately, windows will stop working and you'll have to reinstall it.
